English Language Classes

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is a language training program funded by the Government of Canada through the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

The purpose of LINC is to provide language instruction to adult immigrants who want to improve their English language skills and learn about life in Canada.

Our LINC program is unique in that many of our classes are women-only. We also offer childminding and transportation assistance to students who qualify.

To register in our LINC program, you must be 18 years of age or older and be a landed immigrant or convention refugee.

We offer LINC classes at three different locations across the GTA:

  • North York
  • Mississauga
  • Scarborough

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is a language-training program funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

LINC classes are often the first point of contact for many new immigrants. Classes are where they learn the language required to settle in Canada; standard greetings, how things work (catching a bus, seeing the doctor, using technology and getting prepared for citizenship and employment). In addition, trained and certified instructors assess learners’ individual and group needs and focus on communication skills needed to adapt to a new life in Canada.

Our LINC program is unique in that many of our classes are for women only. We also offer Child Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) and transportation assistance to students who qualify.

LINC Eligibility:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Landed immigrant (PR Card)
  • Convention refugee
