Welcome to our Wellness Café project. In this project, we are working with a team of peer leaders to raise awareness about mental health issues in the newcomer communities, and reduce the stigma attached to it. Our trained peer leaders are organizing their own Wellness Cafés around town, in their communities’ natural hang-outs. In these Wellness Cafés, the peer leaders facilitate lively conversations about wellness, mental health, self-compassion, and ways to increase compassion among communities about those who suffer from mental health challenges.

Make The First Move!
The Make the First Move! Program aims to enable newcomer and refugee women and their children to get physically active through women-only fitness classes, such as free yoga classes, offered in a safe and inclusive space. The program also promotes the benefit of physical activities to both physical and mental health through exercise awareness workshops and mother & child workshops.
Free women-only yoga classes are offered every Thursday from 1:30-2:30 pm at the 747 Don Mills AWO location. For more information please call, 416 422 2225.
